Warranty for Sam4s PC POS Touch Screen Terminals (Onsite)

To provide you with all the tools you need for you to give excellent service and support to your customers, as well as our free standard Three Year Return to Base Parts and Labour Warranty, YCR introduce an optional One or Three Year Onsite Warranty.

You can decide for each individual terminal you sell whether or not you want onsite cover. This can be either one or three years on the Sam4s SPT-3000, SPT-4000 & the SPT-4500 touch screen models.

How It Works:

  1. If your customer reports a fault on a terminal you have covered for onsite you decide if the problem is due to hardware failure. Software is not covered, nor is the usual abuse, neglect or accidental damage.

  2. Report the problem to YCR providing the Model and Serial Number, the type of fault and details of where the terminal is located.

  3. YCR will arrange for an engineer to visit, normally next working day. Some remote areas of Scotland may be longer.

  4. The engineer will either; repair the unit on site or transfer the customers HDD to a loan terminal. In the event of a loan terminal the customer’s terminal will be repaired and returned to the customer and the HDD from the loan machine swapped back.

  5. The engineer will leave the terminal working, connected to the network and with the Operating System up and running.

  6. You receive an email or text message from the engineer at the end of his call to inform you of the result of his visit. This will allow you to make any further on line adjustments or support calls that might be needed to get application software up and running.

The Service

The engineers are employed by a specialist repair company with a nationwide network of CRB security cleared and fully trained engineers. They do not sell anything except their time.

Their vehicles and service are unbranded. They provide onsite cover for leading international brands such as Toshiba, Mitsubishi, Epson and Sanyo. The cover is nationwide and service is provided Monday to Friday 8:30am until 6:30pm.

It is possible to arrange for six or seven day cover at an increased cost. The service company can also provide installation and roll out services if required.

The Back-Up

The onsite warranty is underwritten by a third party insurer which gives you peace of mind in that you have no contingent liability for the value of any warranties you take out, you don’t have to make a reserve in your accounts.

If YCR or Equinox ceases trading your warranty agreement is still covered by the insurers. You receive a confirmation insurance document for every terminal you have with onsite warranty.

What Can Be Covered?

The Sam4s SPT-3000, SPT-4000 & the SPT-4500 including Rear 2-Line Customer Display, MSR and Dallas Reader when fitted before installation.

NB: Cash Drawers, Remote Printers or other Peripherals are not covered.

3 Years Free Extended Warranty (Back To Base)

YCR have a UK wide Dealer Network

YCR warrants its Sam4s Cash Registers, Sam4s SPS-2000, 3000 & 4000 Touch Screen terminals for a period of 36 Months from purchase date of ECR/Touch.

Any defects due to faulty materials or manufacture will be repaired FREE OF CHARGE of labour and materials within the warranty period. Misuse, neglect, excessive voltage input, reprogramming and data loss WILL NOT be covered under the warranty.

NB: Batteries, Keyboard and Drawer Units are covered for the first 12 months only.

Warranty Procedure:-

  1. Contact YCR Service Department for a Returns Number, quoting Serial number, Make and Model and brief details of the fault.

  2. Return the machine back to us, placing a copy of the Returns Number in the box.

  3. We will repair or replace the machine and return it back to you.

4 Years Extended Warranty (On-Site Swap-Out)

YCR have a UK wide Dealer Network

YCR offer their Distribution Network a 'Four Year Extended On-Site Swap Out Warranty’ at a one off cost of £25.00 per printer (UK mainland) £35.00 (Highlands & Islands).

The warranty would cover all parts including power supply, thermal or dot head and labour cost. Collection of broken printer from site and delivery of replacement printer is also included.

This warranty applies to SRP-275A/C, SRP-350, SRP-350+ & SRP-770(II) printers for a period of 48 Months from purchase date of registered printer.

Warranty Procedure:-

  1. Contact YCR Service Department for a Returns Number, quoting Serial number, Make and Model and brief details of the fault.

  2. Return the machine back to us, placing a copy of the Returns Number in the box.

  3. We will repair or replace the machine and return it back to you.
